Introduction: The present check list of the Saturniidae of the Moluccas might be rather incomlete and names occasionally doubtfull because the fauna of the Moluccas remains poorly known. A revision of the taxa of the genera Opodiphthera Wallengren, 1858 and Coscinocera Butler, 1879, which are distributed in the Moluccas and Irian Jaya is in preparation by U. Paukstadt et al. The genera Syntherata Maassen, 1873, Neodiphthera Fletcher in Fletcher & Nye, 1982 and Pararhodia Cockerell, 1914 were recently placed in subgeneric rank to the genus Opodiphthera, cf. Paukstadt, Paukstadt & Suhardjono, 2003. Specimens figured herein are preserved in the Collection Laela H. Paukstadt (Wilhelmshaven, Germany), if not otherwise stated. Digital pictures were taken by Ulrich Paukstadt (Wilhelmshaven, Germany), if not otherwise stated. The check list might be not free of any errors in determinations, spelling of names, authors, publication years, and/or incomplete. Any hints, proposals, and/or corrections are highly wellcome and may be send to the webmaster (e-mail: webmaster@wildsilkmoth- paukstadt.de). The check list is updated frequently. Presently 25 taxa of 8 genera of the family Saturniidae (Lepidoptera) are recorded for the Moluccas. Those are:
